With the World Cup — eight games in June and July — happening in our backyard, so to speak, what’s the deal on short-term rentals in Hoboken, N.J.? Especially when all the towns around us have bans in place.
Among those paying attention to this, and all things housing-related, is Cheryl Fallick, a longtime resident and the spokesperson for the Hoboken Fair Housing Association. She is also the ‘keeper of the history’ and provides broad context in that regard.
Cheryl joins me to talk about why the buzz may sound OK to the layperson (like me) but might not be, how this could impact housing long-term, and whether it will have an effect on the town’s budget shortfalls.
