While we are talking about the embarrassing spectacle of Saquon Barkley playing golf with The Felon or The Felon’s blustering declaration that he’s bringing back Christopher Columbus or the fact that he rebelliously represented us on a global stage at the Pope’s funeral in a blue suit, here’s what’s happening simultaneously:
~ This administration – via not just the president, but the attorney general and the press secretary and others – is taking to the airwaves to belittle our judicial system and undermine its authority.
~ Due process for many individuals is being ignored. The administration prefers to leapfrog over a few steps and just get to the juicy part – sending human beings to a prison in a country they’ve never been to and calling it deportation. Also, it’s not really a prison because there’s no way to leave.
~ The Felon’s favorability ratings are tanking, so he thinks major media outlets should be investigated for election fraud. While this one could almost fall into the fluff category, his consistent demonizing of the press is dangerous.
~ We’re waiting for the ‘tariffs’ shoe to drop. Potentially a recession?
I could keep the list going (healthcare, climate, Ukraine, etc.), but you get my drift. And here’s the vital takeaway:
The protests are working!
Say it with me:
The protests are working!
Not just the ones where we’ve taken to the streets, but the emails we’ve written, the calls we’ve made, the town halls we’ve demanded, the boycotts of Tesla and Target (to name two), the social media campaigns that pound home that we’re not going to live in a Nazi state.
We know our president has no morals, no inner compass, the worst possible impulses. He’s doing a bang-up job of projecting weakness.
His press secretary has amped up her outrage to make up for her lack of actual knowledge and disregard for rule of law. She’s added this delightful tone of condescension to her interactions with press, lest anyone mistake her for a respectful public servant. Perfect parroting of The Felon she works for – how dare you ask that perfectly logical question in our free nation.
Our attorney general, another one who parrots The Felon (which got her the job in the first place), clearly doesn’t know law or is willing to flout it to elevate the boss and his agenda. A criminal enterprise that spends its days trying to knock down the guardrails on its power.
So, yeah, we’re protesting our asses off. We’ve pretty much sent the Adolescent Billionaire packing with our big mouths. No stopping us now. There’s so much more to do.
This is why it’s so frustrating to have someone like Saquon Barkley playing golf with The Felon. It sets us back. As thousands and even millions line up against the president, he gets legitimized by a superstar athlete who doesn’t even get what’s at stake. Barkley’s Tweet:
“lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT. Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago … and look forward to finishing my round with Trump! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have an amazing day.”
Hey Saquon, we’re the ones who “respect the office.” That’s why we don’t like having his criminal butt in the White House and representing us in the world. “Not a hard concept to understand?” Really? Because you don’t seem to get it at a basic level. A bunch of your Super Bowl champion teammates did and opted to stay home.
While you were riding around on the pretty green grass, did you ask him why he’s erasing the country’s real history and replacing it with a sanitized version? Oh, I’m sorry, does that fall into your ‘politics’ category? How about due process being a right? Too political?
Maybe you’re one of those people who believes the comparisons to Hitler and the Nazis right now are not credible. Or maybe you’ve never thought about it. Like so many Americans, perhaps you’re just not paying attention.
OK, then.
Step aside so the rest of us can wrestle our freedoms from these incredibly inept monsters. Go on, live your life. Kick back on your deck. Mow your lawn. Grab some pancakes at IHOP. Explain to your god how righteous you are because you go to church and wear a cross around your neck. Close your eyes to the lack of due process for people you don’t know. Make believe higher prices are just part of the deal to have this brilliant businessman leading our country. Tell yourself judges are the enemy, every single one that doesn’t agree with The Felon. Let him kick the media around because they deserve it. You got that ‘golfing with the president’ item checked off your bucket list.
Cling to all of that.
Let the awake people forge on and hold on for dear life.
You’re welcome.
